This exciting Adventure Myanmar tour takes the intrepid traveller on a round-trip from Yangon, with challenging countryside hikes and unique modes of travel that give a rare insight into Myanmar culture. Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Yangon Arrival
Arrive Yangon. Welcome by your local guide and transfer to hotel for check-in.  The rest of the afternoon is spent exploring and getting acclimatised at your leisure.

Day 2: Yangon
A guided tour of Yangon takes in colonial architecture, bustling markets and the Great Shwedagon Pagoda, offering plenty of opportunity to observe the locals going about their daily lives.

Day 3: Yangon – Mandalay
Domestic flight to Mandalay and meet your local guide. En route from Airport to Mandalay, first drive to Mahamuni Buddha Image, a cast made of the Buddha and one of the hollest sites in Myanmar. Afternoon transfer to your hotel in Mandalay before visiting the Golden Palace monastery, the Kuthodaw pagoda, also known as The World’s Largest Book, that contains 730 stone tablets inscribed with the Tripiṭaka (Buddhist doctrine) and enjoy the beautiful sunset seen from the top of Mandalay Hill.

Day 4: Mandalay
An early start for a visit to Amarapuara where the Maha Gandayon monastery is, the country’s most prominent monastic college founded in 1908 where you can observe the way of life of the Buddhist monks. Next to the monastery is Taungthaman Lake, before crossing the U Bein teakwood bridge, possibly the oldest and longest of its kind. stroll around the lake and the surrounding rural areas, with sunset over Taungthaman Lake completing a fantastic day.

Day 5: Mandalay – Bagan
Morning boat trip departing from the jetty to take the boat bound for the historic city of Bagan. The whole day is at leisure on board cruising and exploring along the Ayeyarwady River. Arrive early evening and transfer to your hotel.

Day 6: Bagan
Guided tour of Bagan displaying a superb range of cultural and ancient sites, with Tharabha Gate, Pitaka Taik and the city’s tallest temple, Thatbyinnyu, always proving to be breathtaking highlights. Enjoy the exceptional sunset view in Bagan.

Day 7: Bagan – Popa
Drive to Mt. Popa, an extinct volcano with natural forest, which is known as the home of the legendary 37 spirits (Nat). Some says as “a tropical oasis emerging from the plain”. Enjoy the panoramic view of the region from the summit, looking towards the arid plain in the direction of Bagan.

Day 8: Popa – Kalaw
Travel onwards to the Green Hill Valley Elephant Camp where you can feed and scrub these beautiful Southeast Asian icons. After bidding the camp farewell head to Kalaw for an overnight stop-over.

Day 9: Kalaw – Myin Daik – Sha Pin – Laming
Beginning a three-day adventure trek through hillsides, villages and flower- filled markets. Meet your local guide and overnight hosts who reside within a local house in Laming Village. Today’s trek takes around 6 -7 hours in total.

Day 10: Laming – Hti Taing
Chilli, cabbage and cauliflower plantations provide an intoxicating agricultural canvas, with basket-weaving locals further enabling you to unearth the rural trades of Myanmar. You’ll spend 6-7 hours trekking today with an overnight stay in Hti Taing.

Day 11: Hti Taing – Indaing – Inle Lake
A much shorter trek signals the end of your rural adventure, with easy gradients and lakeside strolls followed by a boat ride to this evening’s accommodation overlooking Inle Lake, one of Myanmar’s best known destinations.

Day 12: Inle Lake
The peaceful waters of Inle Lake are bristling with life. From rotating markets and Intha fishermen to the holiest of pagodas and ancient monasteries, it’s an unsurpassed people-watching opportunity and photographers will be in their element.

Day 13: Inle Lake – Sagar
Journey by boat to the lakeside village of Sagar, where wheelwrights, workshops and friendly locals present an absorbing insight into the many traditional industries that are still alive and well in Myanmar.

Day 14: Sagar – Inle Lake
Take your time to further explore the peaceful lifestyles of Sagar. Return to Inle and spend an afternoon strolling gently through paper mills, monasteries and backwaters.

Day 15:Inle Lake – Kakku – Nyaung Shwe
Drive through the pine-covered hills surrounding Taunggyi where British Hill Stations, cheroot makers and ‘lost’ temple ruins form the backdrop to an extremely enjoyable day.

Day 16: Nyaung Shwe – Heho – Yangon
Transfer to Heho and fly back to Yangon before spending the rest of your day at leisure. An excellent opportunity to sample some of Yangon’s exotic street food, and perhaps wander through the Mahabandoola rose gardens in the downtown area.

Day 17: Yangon Departure
Transfer to Yangon International Airport for your international departure.

Flights
We will arrange all domestic flights included in itineraries. We can also arrange the flights from all UK airports upon request as we are ATOL bonded.

Visa
All details are for UK passport holders only. A visa is COMPULSORY to enter Myanmar. A 28-day tourist visa is usually sufficient for most visitors. The visa is issued by the Myanmar Embassy or Consulate in London. It usually takes 3-5 working days to obtain. At present, eVisa system is also in place. Check more info on  http://www.evisa.moip.gov.mm/. Important Note: The Visa is valid 3 months from date of issue and NOT date of entry into the country so please time your application accordingly.

Passport
A valid passport with at least 6 months validity remaining after your return date is required. Please ensure that it has at least one blank page.

Insurance
You will require a comprehensive travel insurance that covers you for medical costs associated with hospitalisation, emergency travel and repatriation back to your home country. Vaccinations and Malaria Prevention
You will require vaccinations for your visit to Myanmar. Please consult your doctor for the up-to-date advice. It is important that you do this well in advance of your departure date.

Booking Procedure
Once the travel dates and clients details are checked and confirmed, we would typically require a deposit of 20% in order that we can secure availability for your booking. The remaining balance is due 30 days before departure. Any booking within 30 days of departure needs a full payment.
