How to apply for Schengen Visa in UK

ယူကေ မှာ ကျောင်းသားဗီဇာ (Tier 4)၊ အလုပ်ဗီဇာ (Work Permit)၊ အမြဲနေထိုင်ခွင့် (ILR)၊ မှီခိုဗီဇာ (Spouse) နှင့် နေသူများ ဥ‌‌ရောပဘက် (ဥပမာ ပြင်သစ်) သွားလည်ဖို့ Schengen Visa (ရှန်းဂန်ဗီဇာ) လိုပါတယ်။

အလည်ဗီဇာ (Visit) နှင့်ရောက်ရှိနေသူများ ယူကေရောက်မှ Schengen Visa လျှောက်လို့မရပါ။ မြန်မာပြည်မှ လျှောက်ထားခဲ့ရပါမည်။

Schengen visa တစ်ခုတည်းဖြင့် ဥရောပ ၂၉ နိုင်ငံသို့ သွားရောက်နိုင်သည်။

General requirements for a Schengen visa is as follow.

Note you will need to have 3 months validity remaining on your Tier 4 (General) student visa (or other UK visa) after the date you plan to leave the Schengen area and return to the UK. If you have an onward journey and will not be returning to the UK, you will need to show an onward flight booked to your destination country.

  • Passport
  • UK BRP
  • Visa application form (must be singed and dated)
  • 2x Photos (3.5 x 4.5 cm) (some centres ask just 1) ***do not staple the photo with the form, use glue
  • Travel medical insurance / health insurance (a minimum cover 30,000 Euros)
  • Bank statements of last 3 months (if you have been living in the UK less than 3 months, ask your bank to provide a letter confirming when your account was opened. The bank statements must be no older than 1 week before your appointment)
  • Accommodation bookings for entire trip (hotels)
  • Transport bookings for entire trip (e.g. flight, train, bus)
  • Evidence of applicant will return to the UK/home country (eg return/onward flight / statement of attendance / offer letter for further study)

If you are on work visa:

  • A letter from employer – confirming your employment with the company.
  • A holiday letter – confirming your holiday request has been authorised.
  • Payslips of the last three months.

If you are on student visa:

  • A letter from university/college – confirming your enrolment and the course of study
  • Statement of Attendance at the University/College
  • A holiday letter – confirmation you have informed the student office that you will be travelling (advisory only not necessary)
  • Biometric ID/visa card

If you have been invited to stay with a friend, who is a national of the country you plan to visit, then you will need to include a letter of invitation written by your friend. The letter of invitation must include your friend’s address in their home country; the dates you will be staying with your friend; a copy of the friend’s passport page or ID card and the friend must declare that they are aware that their guest (you) cannot stay beyond the date issued on your visa.

You will also need to pay the service fee charged by the centres where application is submitted.
Some other optional/additional service fees may be payable on request.

Processing time varies but usually takes around 2-4 weeks. Also note that in busy period ie. holiday season, the waiting time for visa centre appointment can even be between 2 to 4 weeks plus another 2-4 weeks for processing. To ensure your planned holidays going ahead, you are advised to secure the necessary visa well before the travel date. The application can be submitted 180 days in advance.
